Trip to Nairobi to see the Doctor.

Ron and I went to Nairobi two weeks ago and saw a doctor at the Agga Kahn hospital. We were advised to go by the doctor here in Arusha because there is no facility here, or anywhere close by that is able to do an MRI. We have never liked visiting Nairobi much due to the amount of traffic and just the general pollution and noise. God must have had some mighty warriors intervening on our behalf because this trip was completely different. Our drive into Nairobi was still a little harrowing as I was very concerned about Ron's head being bumped and the road from the Kenyan border into Nairobi was especially bad this time. Once we arrived in Nairobi we got to the hospital without incident and easily found the doctors office. The hospital took us by surprise as it is very modern and compares well with any hospital you might find in the States. The doctor we saw was extremely professional and we felt at ease with him.
While in Nairobi we stayed at a place called The Hampton House, it is run by the Southern Baptist Convention and they try to keep their cost down while offering a nice place for missionaries and church workers to stay. We felt a great peace staying there and have booked to be there April 18th-21st as Ron has to have a check up by Dr. Hooker, (he is the doctor Ron saw when we made our initial visit).
We are so grateful for all the prayers for Ron and we know that he will make a full recovery from this terrible tragedy.

Meeting on the porch

Today is Saturday and we held church at our house for the first time. After Ron was attacked and we could no longer go to the village for a while, it was agreed that as many as could come from the village to our house would come, and we would have a bible study and a meal. We had about 12 show up, which was great. After Ron gave the lesson we had a meal of rice, mchuzi (which is a broth with meat and vegetables) beans, and bread. Everything went well and everyone left with full stomachs and full hearts. Pray that this will only be temporary and that we can return to the village quickly.

Enjoying food after our Bible Study.

This is Boniface, he told Ron
today that he feels God calling
him to preach.

Just set up this blog.

This is the first post to the blog, I pray that this will keep as many people updated on what is going on with our family but more importantly we hope that this will be used to further the work we are involved in and perhaps encourage others to be more involved in missions.
